Marilu Adams Scholarship Fund

Kata Fodor
(biography)

Scholarship Awarded for 2009-2010

The Marilu Adams Scholarship for the 2009-10 school year has been awarded to Kata Fodor, a freshman on the woman's swim team. Kata is distance swimmer from Sarasota, FL, where she was a four-year All-American and State Qualifier from Booker High School.

The Marilu Adams Scholarship was established in 2000 after the sudden death of Marilu Adams, the Central Florida Chapter of the WVU Alumni Association’s long time Secretary. All donations from our members and 100% of our Association dues and money raising activities goes directly to this account. There are no administrative fees deducted from these donations. The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a deserving Florida student-athlete at our University. In recent years we have sponsored John Holmes of Rockledge (football), KayJay Harris of S.W. Florida (also football) and Tammy Wolf of Lakeland (volleyball).

Because of an upsurge in the stock market, our scholarship fund has grown back to $30,733.16 as of this writing. 100% of all dues and drawing proceeds as well as individual donations made to this account help support Florida athletes at our University. Personal tax deductible donations may be made to account #3S643 and mailed to WVU Foundation, P.O. Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507-1650. Your contributions to this fund are a big part of our organization's mission of support of our school. Thanks for all you have done in the past to make this scholarship effort a success.

Donations to this fund are tax deductible and can be directed anytime during the year to the WVU Foundation, Account #3S643, P.O. Box 1650, Morgantown, WV 26507-1650. Support your University and our Florida student-athletes at our alma mater. Help this scholarship fund grow to the magic number of $50,000, at which time it becomes self-sustaining. Your tax-deductible donations can help us grow the fund so we can continue to support deserving Florida student athletes. Send in your check to the WVU Foundation today, or send a second check for the scholarship fund along with your chapter membership application and current year's dues. Make all checks for the Scholarship Fund payable to the "WVU Foundation" and note "Account #3S643" on the memo line. Help support our school, our state and our alumni association. We all are whatever we are in large part because of the alumni who went before us.
